Responsibilities Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of blood and urine specimens Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens accurately and safely Observe and collect urine specimens from patients, including observed and supervised collections Follow departmental policies to correctly identify patients prior to specimen collection Label and document specimens properly, preparing them for shipment Demonstrate excellent customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff Communicate effectively with a diverse patient population Follow universal precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality Maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas at all times Assist with order processing and office supply management as needed Required Skills Minimum of 6 months of venipuncture experience required Verifiable track record of providing excellent customer service Reliable with a strong work ethic Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and report generation Fast and accurate data entry skills Effective communication skills, clear and concise in interactions Additional Skills & Requirements Ability to stand for long periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Physical activities include walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting Valid certification in phlebotomy and related licensure preferred Schedule includes weekdays with consistent hours, approximately 35 hours per week Available to work in a clinical setting in the region, this role is ideal for dedicated phlebotomists eager to contribute to vital laboratory testing services.
