Job Summary Schedule:
Part-Time, Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM We are seeking a reliable Specimen Collection Technician (Male Collector) to conduct observed urine specimen collections for male patients across two clinic locations. This role is essential for maintaining specimen integrity, preventing sample tampering, and ensuring strict compliance with clinical, infection control, and HIPAA standards.
Note:
Male gender is a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ) for this position pursuant to patient privacy rights and regulatory observation requirements. Duties Observe and collect urine specimens for male patients to ensure specimen integrity, monitoring for potential tampering or adulteration. Follow established protocols for urine collection on all patients consistently. Verify patient identity using standard protocols; accurately log, label, and process all collected urine specimens. Maintain a clean and sanitized specimen collection area across clinic locations. Track inventory and order collection supplies as needed for both clinics. Strictly adhere to infection control protocols, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality regulations at all times. Drive between clinic facilities as required by the collection schedule. Other duties as assigned. Skills High School diploma or equivalent required 1+ years of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients. Ability to perform observed collections for male patients with professionalism and clinical discretion. Strong attention to detail regarding patient identification, labelling, and documentation. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between clinic locations. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards. Works well in a team w/strong organizational and communication skills. Basic Microsoft Office/Excel skills. Ability to pass and maintain a BCI Clearance Check. Pay:
