The Physical Therapist designs and implements individualized treatment programs to maximize patient functional independence and quality of life. This role includes evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans and modifying interventions as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. The therapist assesses and treats patients with cancer-related disabilities, delivering specialized, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include providing education and instruction to patients and caregivers to support therapy participation and safe discharge planning, as well as documenting all interventions and communications with healthcare professionals in a timely and accurate manner. The Physical Therapist also participates in ongoing educational and professional development programs and may supervise physical therapy clinical interns and physical therapy assistants as required. Starting hourly rate is $40.36 which includes a geographical differential of $3.36 per hour. The listed pay rate is the potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience License and Certification Requirements License to practice as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York. Education and Experience 1. Doctorate degree from an approved physical therapy program; or 2. Master's degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of one (1) year of full time experience in physical therapy or a related field; or 3. Bachelor's degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in physical therapy or a related field.NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain New York State licensure as a Physical Therapist within six (6) months of their appointment to this title. 2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have experience working in an acute care and/or oncology setting, with proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems to support efficient and accurate patient care. They will possess exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, as this role requires close collaboration with colleagues, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver outstanding patient-centered care.
