Job Description
Encompass Health seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based evaluations and treatments to help patients recover from major illnesses and injuries, restoring mobility, function, and independence. You will design individualized care plans, provide patient and family education, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluations and treatments for inpatient rehabilitation patients Develop individualized care plans to restore mobility, function, and independence Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and therapists Educate patients and families on home exercises, safety, and recovery expectations Document assessments, progress notes, and outcomes in the electronic medical record Participate in quality improvement, clinical programs, and specialty initiatives Mentor and support therapy staff and students as appropriate Required Skills Physical therapy evaluation and treatment planning Inpatient rehabilitation care Therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education Gait training and balance interventions Functional mobility and ADL training Patient and family education Electronic medical record documentation Interdisciplinary team collaboration Outcome measurement and progress tracking Pain management and safety practices
