You do not need to be an experienced pelvic floor specialist to apply. If you are an orthopedic Physical Therapist, a newer clinician, or a PT who has been interested in learning more about pelvic health, this is an opportunity to continue building your orthopedic foundation while gaining exposure to an additional specialty area. You may treat patients with:
Orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions Neck and back pain Shoulder, hip, and knee conditions Foot and ankle injuries Post-operative rehabilitation needs Sports and activity-related injuries Strength and mobility limitations Chronic pain Movement dysfunction Patients returning to work, exercise, recreation, and daily activity You will have the freedom to evaluate each patient, develop an individualized plan of care, and progress treatment based on clinical findings and functional goals.
Your treatment approach may include:
Manual therapy Therapeutic exercise Strength and mobility progression Movement analysis Neuromuscular re-education Pain education Functional training Return-to-activity planning The goal is to help patients move beyond simply reducing symptoms and toward greater strength, confidence, and long-term function. What You Will Do As a Physical Therapist, you will: Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic and movement-related conditions Develop individualized plans of care based on patient goals and clinical findings Provide evidence-based Physical Therapy treatment Help patients improve strength, mobility, function, confidence, and quality of life Utilize manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, movement analysis, and other appropriate interventions Progress patients throughout each phase of rehabilitation Provide patient education and coaching throughout the recovery process Communicate clearly with patients about their condition, progress, and next steps Collaborate with teammates to support strong patient outcomes Complete documentation accurately and professionally Create an exceptional patient experience built around trust and individualized care Incorporate pelvic health treatment when appropriate based on your training and clinical interests Who We Are Looking For Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program Active or eligible for an Illinois Physical Therapy license Strong interest in outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to evidence-based care Interest in continued clinical development Ability to develop and progress individualized treatment plans Professional, collaborative, and patient-focused approach Interest in pelvic health Physical Therapy is welcomed Pelvic health coursework or training is a plus, but not required Previous pelvic health experience is welcomed, but clinicians interested in developing this specialty are encouraged to apply New graduate Physical Therapists may be considered Why This Role Is Different You do not have to choose between building strong orthopedic skills and developing additional areas of clinical interest.
