Job Description
Mercy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs to restore function, improve mobility, and relieve pain for patients across diverse conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive orthopedic physical therapy evaluations, including musculoskeletal and functional movement assessments. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based plans of care for patients with orthopedic and post-surgical conditions. Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, and functional mobility interventions. Educate patients and families on diagnosis, prognosis, home exercise programs, activity modification, and self-management strategies. Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly in the EMR. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other team members to coordinate and optimize patient care. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes, and communicate changes with the care team and patient. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards to maintain a safe clinical environment. Participate in continuing education, in-services, and professional development activities to maintain and enhance orthopedic clinical skills.
