Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, managing check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as ChiroTouch Verify insurance coverage and process medical billing and collections accurately using health insurance knowledge and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding standards Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic confidentiality policies Review medical documentation for accuracy, including care plans, ICD-10/ICD-9/ICD coding, and ensure proper coding for billing purposes Handle phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using proper phone etiquette and clear communication skills Support clinical staff by managing medical records, filing documents, performing data entry with 10 key typing skills, and assisting with administrative tasks such as faxing and scanning Skills Proven experience in medical office management or administrative support within a healthcare setting, including clinic experience or dental clinic experience preferred Strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or electronic health records management tools such as Meditech or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA compliance, and health information management Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing procedures Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally over the phone or in person Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills including filing, documentation review, and office management tasks such as scheduling and appointment coordination This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their healthcare administrative expertise while supporting compassionate patient care.
