Job Description

Senior Naturopathic DoctorBrain Health and Geriatric Care Solcere is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and clinically driven Naturopathic Doctor to join our team. This provider will care for patients with cognitive decline, neurodegenerative conditions, and complex chronic health concerns while working closely with Dr. Heather Sandison and the broader Solcere care team. The ideal candidate has at least three years of clinical experience and is comfortable independently evaluating and managing complex patients. Experience in geriatrics, brain health, cognitive decline, or neurodegenerative disease is strongly preferred. This position will play an important role in expanding Solcere's clinical capacity, providing coverage for Dr. Sandison, and delivering care through a structured model that includes assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, clinical implementation, health coaching, and planned reassessment. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive naturopathic and functional-medicine evaluations. Evaluate patients with cognitive decline, neurodegenerative conditions, and complex chronic health concerns. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical history, symptoms, laboratory findings, diagnostic testing, and patient goals. Review and interpret laboratory, imaging, and specialty-testing results. Identify and address modifiable contributors to cognitive decline and chronic disease when clinically appropriate. Apply evidence-informed functional and naturopathic approaches to nutrition, sleep, exercise, metabolic health, inflammation, hormonal health, gut health, toxic exposures, infections, and other relevant contributors. Manage prescriptions, supplements, and monitored therapies within the clinician's scope of practice. Provide follow-up care during structured assessment and treatment programs. Conduct acute and interim visits for established patients when needed. Assume care for selected established patients based on clinical complexity and Solcere's patient-retention criteria. Provide clinical coverage for Dr. Sandison during planned absences and designated schedule periods. Recognize concerns that require urgent care, emergency evaluation, specialist involvement, or escalation to Dr. Sandison. Collaborate with health coaches to support patient implementation while maintaining clear boundaries between clinical care and coaching. Coordinate with primary-care providers, specialists, caregivers, and outside clinicians when appropriate. Help patients and caregivers understand complex findings and translate treatment plans into clear, actionable next steps. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation. Participate in case review, continuing education, and refinement of Solcere's clinical pathways and protocols. Support safe patient transitions, including graduation to coaching, shared care, or an outside provider when ongoing Solcere medical management is no longer required. Ideal Candidate Licensed and in good standing as a Naturopathic Doctor in California. At least three years of independent clinical experience. Experience working with geriatric patients, brain health, cognitive decline, or neurodegenerative conditions is strongly preferred. Experienced in functional, naturopathic, and integrative medicine. Comfortable independently managing complex patients with multiple contributing conditions. Able to prescribe and manage medications within California naturopathic scope and applicable credentialing requirements. Familiar with hormone management, thyroid care, metabolic health, and other common areas of functional medicine. Confident interpreting conventional and specialty laboratory testing. Able to distinguish between appropriate naturopathic management and conditions requiring referral or specialist involvement. Comfortable collaborating with physicians, naturopathic doctors, health coaches, caregivers, and administrative team members. An excellent communicator who can make complex medical information understandable and actionable. Compassionate and relationship-oriented while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries. Organized and dependable, with strong documentation and follow-through. Interested in helping develop a structured, team-based model for brain-health care. Committed to ongoing learning and evidence-informed clinical practice. Experience with the Bredesen Protocol, ReCODE, dementia care, or advanced brain-health diagnostics is a strong plus. Additional training and mentorship will be provided as appropriate. Role Development The selected provider will begin with a structured orientation and training period that includes observation, case collaboration, supervised integration into Solcere's clinical workflows, and progressive responsibility for patient care. Depending on experience, performance, and organizational needs, the role may develop to include: Greater responsibility for complex cognitive-health cases. Expanded coverage for Dr. Sandison. Participation in clinical quality review. Mentorship of other clinical team members. Contribution to clinical protocols and standardized care pathways. A defined clinical leadership role established through a separate scope and compensation agreement. Operational leadership, staff management, marketing responsibilities, and unrelated external projects are not automatically included in this clinical position. Why Join Solcere Solcere provides personalized, integrative care for patients affected by cognitive decline and complex chronic health conditions. Our approach combines comprehensive clinical assessment, advanced diagnostics, individualized treatment planning, health coaching, lifestyle support, and coordinated care. The incoming provider will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced clinicians, deepen their expertise in brain health and neurodegenerative disease, and help deliver a structured clinical model designed to provide patients with a clear treatment pathway. This position is particularly well suited for a clinician who values complex case work, collaboration, clinical independence, and the opportunity to help shape a growing brain-health specialty practice. Schedule 9AM-5PM Monday-Friday (with an administrative day) Some responsibilities may be performed remotely when clinically and legally appropriate. Regular in-person availability in Encinitas, California, will be required. Compensation $120,000-$135,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, schedule, and final scope of responsibility. If you are an experienced Naturopathic Doctor who is passionate about brain health, complex patient care, and collaborative medicine, we would be glad to hear from you.
