Indiana University Health Medical Group South Region is actively recruiting an Electrophysiologist to join our highly respected cardiovascular team at IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and grow a comprehensive electrophysiology practice within a thriving cardiovascular program that serves as the referral hub for an 11-county region of approximately 500,000 residents. Join a collaborative team of cardiologists, advanced practice providers, cardiothoracic surgeons, and structural heart specialists while helping shape the future of a rapidly expanding EP program.

Position Details:
  • Practice primarily located at IU Health Bloomington Hospital
  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, approximately 60% inpatient and 40% outpatient
  • Expected schedule includes two clinic days and three EP lab days per week
  • Opportunity to build a high-volume regional referral electrophysiology practice
  • Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures including AF, SVT, and VT ablations, EP studies, device implantation and management, CRT, and
WATCHMAN

evaluations

  • Interest in PVC/VT ablation and lead extraction preferred but not required
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular center alongside general cardiology, structural heart, cardiothoracic surgery, and advanced heart care programs
  • Teaching opportunities available through the Indiana University School of Medicine Bloomington campus, including medical students and residents
  • Monthly outreach opportunities throughout the South Region
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Completion of Cardiology and Electrophysiology fellowship training required
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
  • Open to both practicing physicians and graduating fellows
  • Strong interest in building and growing a regional electrophysiology program

The new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and Regional Academic Health Center, part of the Indiana University Health Medical Group, opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.

At the same time, the facility strengthens healthcare education by providing space for collaboration and coordination of care and teaching. Students and trainees frequently come to the hospital side of the facility for clinical experiences.
