Job Description
Compassion Health Care, Inc. is excited to announce the expansion of our healthcare services into Madison, North Carolina , with the opening of a new facility anticipated in late November 2026 . As part of this exciting growth, we are seeking a dedicated Physician to join our team and help us expand access to high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals and families in Madison and the surrounding communities. This is a unique opportunity to join an established community health organization while playing an important role in the launch and growth of our newest location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, sound clinical judgment, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care. We seek a physician who is committed to providing equitable, patient-centered care, recognizing and addressing biases that may contribute to healthcare disparities, and respecting the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of the patients and communities we serve. 1. Patient Care Assesses individual patient conditions utilizing clinical observation, medical record, verbal information and interaction with patient/family. Identifies the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and makes accommodations for such differences. Demonstrates an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process in delivery of services to patients within all age groups served: Demonstrates the ability to utilize medical knowledge and sound judgment to appropriately diagnose and treat patients according to the patient's age, within scope of training and approved privileges. Utilizes medical knowledge and sound judgment to appropriately prescribe medications, within scope of training and approved privileges. Thoroughly documents patient encounter and other clinical activities in EMR in a timely, comprehensive and accurate manner following CHC protocols. Appropriately refers patients as needed. Rotates weekly telephone call responsibility, provides appropriate medical advice by telephone and documents patient telephone encounter in EMR in a timely, comprehensive and accurate manner following CHC protocols. Involves patient in decision making and plan of care development. Supports organizational efforts to assess and manage population health by utilizing Quality Improvement methods. Lead care team activities in compliance with CHC policies and procedures for patient care Performs medical procedures, treatments, and tests in accordance with the physician's clinical Privileges, using skilled technique and following prescribed safety regulations Provides Telemedicine visits to patients, as appropriate and in accordance with CHC protocols. 2. Administrative Duties Completes patient forms related to medical conditions, care, etc. as requested by the patient or outside agencies. Reviews lab test results, consult reports, documents, EMR messages, telephone encounters and all other patient information and takes appropriate action within established timeframes defined by CHC protocols. Performs chart audits and peer reviews as assigned. Supervises Advanced Practice Providers, following applicable guidelines of the NC Medical Board and/or NC Board of Nursing. Precepts medical students, PA students and NP students. Ensures completeness and accuracy of medical records. 3. Patient Education Ensures learning needs of patient/family are addressed and documented. Assesses the patient's ability to learn. Selects appropriate teaching method based on age, learning ability, and other pertinent factors. Explains procedures, treatments, medication usage as appropriate. Documents teaching and patient/family response to such in the patient medical record. Documents joint decision making in regards to treatment plan. Refers patient to online resources and/or CHC available resources.
