Your expertise will support diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of health conditions, ensuring optimal health outcomes for diverse patient populations. Duties Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including intake and vital signs, to establish accurate diagnoses. Prescribe medications and administer injections in accordance with HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines, ensuring safe medication management. Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document medical records, update patient histories, and manage clinical data efficiently. Perform diagnostic evaluations, interpret test results (including radiology, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging), and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, airway management, and botulinum toxin treatments to support diverse clinical scenarios. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, specialists in infectious disease care, critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Participate in clinical research or clinical trials aimed at advancing medical knowledge and improving treatment protocols within primary care settings. Manage acute pain cases and provide triage services in outpatient or urgent care environments to ensure timely intervention. Support discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, hospice & palliative medicine efforts, and home care initiatives to promote continuity of care beyond the clinic. Engage in health coaching and client communication strategies to educate patients on wellness practices and medication adherence. Qualifications Certified Physician Assistant with current licensure to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in primary care settings with hospital experience preferred; including hospital medicine or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing. Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential. Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure is highly desirable; experience with ventilator management and airway procedures is advantageous. Skills in diagnostic test interpretation—including radiology images—and proficiency in procedures like phlebotomy or post-surgical suturing are beneficial. Ability to perform under pressure during emergency response situations; familiarity with infection control protocols is important. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient assessment and education. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with drug enforcement policies related to injection administration and medication prescribing practices.
