Flushing Hospital Medical Center - Queens, NY Collaboration with Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Queens, NY Join a Growing Academic Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service Jamaica Psychiatric Services is seeking a Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) or a Board Eligible or Board-Certified Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatrist to join our Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatry Service , primarily based at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York. This position is part of a collaborative, hospital-based psychiatry team that provides consultation services across both Flushing Hospital and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center , offering a dynamic academically rich clinical environment.
Position Highlights Primary location:
Flushing Hospital Medical Center Coverage across a combined Jamaica-Flushing Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service Inpatient hospital-based psychiatric consultations (ER + medical/surgical/OB-GYN units) No overnight call / No weekend call Collaborative work with medicine, surgery, ED, ICU, and subspecialty teams Opportunity to teach and supervise psychiatry residents, family medicine residents and medical students from different medical schools. Active participation in ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency programs in the network Academic appointment opportunities available Clinical Responsibilities Provide psychiatric consultations for: Emergency Department (CPEP/ED interface) Inpatient medical and surgical units ICU and specialty services Assess and manage: Delirium, agitation, capacity evaluations Psychiatric comorbidities in medically ill patients Substance use disorders and withdrawal management Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care Practice Environment Busy, high acuity but manageable hospital consultation service with ample support from peers, department and hospital leadership Diverse patient population reflective of the Queens community Strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based care Integrated psychiatry service across two major community hospitals Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience and market data Full hospital benefits package , including: Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off and CME allowance Malpractice coverage with tail Moonlighting opportunities available at competitive rates Potential for leadership or service development roles as program expands H‑1B visa sponsorship available Location Advantage Based in Queens, New York , one of the most diverse communities in the U.S.
