Job Description

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that aids veterans in need of professional attire and career path! The organization has been growing rapidly in recent years. We have partnered with the top companies in the nation. We have impacted the community by helping thousands of veterans.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and willing to learn! We are looking for a hard worker with a great attitude. You will have the opportunity to be part of a grassroots, fast-growing organization! This internship offers valuable real-life experience!
What you will learn:
The psychology intern will help manage our veteran outreach programs. The intern will work directly with the veteran population and serve their needs. The psychology intern will help with community outreach as well as planning veteran related events during the fall semester. The psychology intern must be friendly and outgoing. They must be comfortable communicating with people of different backgrounds. The psychology intern must be coachable, able to take direction and be able to work independently and self-motivate.
Duration:
The internship has a rolling start date in September with a target start date of Monday, September 21st (Interns can start earlier if available). The program ends in the first week of December before finals. The required hours are 10-15 hours per week. You choose your own schedule, we are open Monday-Friday 10-5PM.
Location:
This internship will take place in our Bethel, CT office. T his is NOT a remote internship, applicants must be able to commute to our Bethel, CT office.
COVID:
We are observing all state regulations. We are currently operating with limited teams. Some perks of interning with us:
  • We will sign necessary paperwork from your university for college credit.
  • This is NOT a employment position, it is an internship.
  • Letter of recommendation can be requested after completing of the program.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be currently enrolled in a College or University (part-time or full-time)
  • Sophomore to Senior standing encouraged but not a must
  • Must have strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written Skills
  • Must be able to use Microsoft office including word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must be able to do basic designs for promotional materials
  • Friendly and outgoing
  • Must be available 10-15 hours per week
  • Must be able to work independently and self-motivate
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must have transportation
Possible Responsibilities Include:
  • Veterans programs research
  • Contacting veterans & veteran organization
  • Event planning/ Community Events
  • Promotional Campaigns
  • Customer service
  • Maintaining relationships with veterans and partners through phone and email
  • Public Relations
  • Fundraising
  • Administrative duties
  • database and records management
  • Clothing inventory sorting (Some light lifting required)
