Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embark on an impactful role as a School Psychologist for an exciting contract assignment in a vibrant educational setting near Waterbury, CT. This full-time position covers a maternity leave, running from late August through the start of the new year, offering the opportunity to work closely with elementary-aged students in a supportive environment. Key qualifications for this role include: Active 070 School Psychologist certification (required) Experience working with elementary-level students preferred Strong assessment, observation, and counseling skills Comfort facilitating PPT and 504 meetings Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families Excellent organization and communication abilities What you'll be doing: Conducting thorough evaluations to identify the needs of students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges Providing both group and individual counseling to support student growth and well-being Leading and coordinating all PPT (Planning and Placement Team) meetings, ensuring each student's needs are effectively addressed Facilitating 504 meetings and collaborating on student support plans Completing student observations and necessary assessments with diligence and professionalism Partnering with teachers and staff to foster a positive and inclusive school climate This contract runs approximately from August 26th to January 1st and is ideal for a professional who enjoys making a direct difference in the lives of children during a pivotal point in their development. The role is onsite, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week.
