Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in students' lives as a dedicated professional supporting schools near Waterbury, CT and surrounding communities, including New Haven. This contract position provides you with the opportunity to utilize your expertise as a School Psychologist while collaborating with educators, families, and students throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid state certification or license as a School Psychologist Prior experience working in a school setting preferred Ability to complete timely assessments, develop student support plans, and participate in IEP meetings Knowledgeable in best practices related to student evaluations and interventions Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Compassionate and adaptable in meeting the unique needs of each studentPrimary Responsibilities:
Conduct individualized psychological and behavioral assessments for students Interpret evaluation results and communicate findings to parents, teachers, and support teams Participate actively in multi-disciplinary teams and provide recommendations for student success Develop and implement strategies for social, emotional, and academic growth Support the Response to Intervention (RTI) process and crisis intervention efforts as needed Serve as a liaison among families, school staff, and community resources Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school policy and legal requirements By taking on this role, you will contribute to creating supportive, inclusive, and productive school environments across several cities, focusing especially around New Haven and Waterbury.
