Michigan / Remote Consultation Possible We are seeking a qualified child psychologist or forensic psychologist to serve as an independent expert consultant in an ongoing Michigan family-court matter involving a school-aged child. The ideal professional will have experience evaluating or providing expert opinions regarding children involved in high-conflict custody matters, particularly where behavioral health, developmental needs, anxiety/stress, continuity of care, and parental/co-parenting dynamics are relevant. Scope of Engagement Depending upon the expert's qualifications and professional judgment, the engagement may include: Reviewing relevant medical, psychological, therapy, educational, and court records. Reviewing documented communications and other materials relevant to the child's psychological and emotional environment. Providing an independent professional assessment of psychological issues relevant to the child's well-being. Evaluating the potential effects of chronic parental conflict, high-conflict communication, instability, disrupted treatment, and/or significant transitions on a child. Providing professional insight regarding childhood anxiety, emotional distress, behavioral manifestations of stress, attachment, adjustment, and continuity of mental-health treatment. Assessing whether available records support particular psychological or behavioral conclusions. Identifying limitations or concerns within existing psychological assessments, reports, or recommendations when appropriate. Preparing a written expert report or professional opinion, if warranted by the expert's review. Consulting with legal counsel regarding psychological issues within the expert's area of expertise. Being available for deposition and/or court testimony if necessary. Preferred Qualifications Applicants should ideally have: Ph.D. or Psy.

D. in Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related discipline. Current psychologist licensure. Significant experience working with children and families. Experience with child development, anxiety, trauma/stress, behavioral health, or family systems. Familiarity with high-conflict divorce/custody dynamics and their potential effects on children. Experience conducting record reviews and forming opinions based upon collateral documentation. Prior experience as a consulting or testifying expert in family court is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Michigan family-court proceedings is preferred but not required. Ability to clearly distinguish clinical findings from legal custody determinations and remain within the appropriate scope of psychological expertise. Additional Experience of Interest Experience involving neurodevelopmental conditions, epilepsy triggered by stress and anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, children with chronic medical conditions, treatment continuity, school-based behavioral concerns, or interactions between psychological stress and medical conditions would be particularly valuable.
