Job Description

Job Summary Functions as a fully qualified Psychometrist, administers individual psychological and neuropsychological tests including measures of motor, sensory and cognitive abilities, manages patient behavior during testing, modifies administration within scope of practice to accommodate specific patient capacities, scores these tests and provides behavioral observation relevant to test interpretation. Monitors and maintains departmental testing supplies. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Conducts and score neuropsychological evaluations, developmental and adaptive assessments. Based on the tests prescribed by the supervising psychologist for each patient, the psychometrist develops a plan for the testing session that incorporates unique physical, cognitive, and psychological requirements of the patient and any implications for test-test interactions. Administers tests of physical capacity, sensory processing, spatial and language skills and attention using standardized instructions. Administers and scores personality test instruments and intelligence assessments Follows standardized instructions for administration of individual questions and tasks Selects appropriate normative base for patient and applies standardized scoring criteria to rate patients' individual responses and converts scores into appropriate metric (Z-score; T-Score; standard score) Coordinates patient activity during psychological evaluation: Monitors patient's behavioral, emotional and physical status and adjusts assessment plan to include all prescribed tests. Consults with psychologist throughout testing session and modifies assessment as needed Schedules testing procedures; assumes responsibility for billing psychometric procedures Coordinates any testing with existing other medical treatments to avoid conflicts Gathers background data prior to administration of testing materials Consults with assigned psychologist regarding any specific test modifications required Gathers information from treatment team regarding accommodations for physical or behavioral issues Prepares tests materials for interpretation Collates completed psychological/neuropsychological files Maintains testing supplies Conducts timely and accurate inventory of supplies on hand Promptly initiates requisitions for needed supplies. Coordinates acquisition of testing materials with Prisma Supply and Distribution / Accounting for purchase orders / check requests with publishers of testing materials Maintains supply of current psychological assessment and materials catalogues Apprises Program Director of costs for completion of capital Budget Forms. Assists psychologists in researching and acquiring additional information regarding tests / software / costs Research publishers of assessment materials to locate age / norm, appropriate testing measures Requests literature / samples from publishers for psychologists to review Apprises psychologists of status changes of assessment materials currently being used Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements Education
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, School Psychology, Social Work, Education, Mental Health or related field of study. Master's degree preferred Experience
