Job Description

Mercy is seeking a skilled Radiology Technician to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this on-site role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams, ensuring accurate patient positioning, radiation safety, and compassionate care. You'll collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams, maintain precise documentation in
EMR/PACS
systems, and adhere to strict quality and infection control standards. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams following physician orders and departmental protocols Ensure patient safety, comfort, and accurate positioning throughout imaging procedures Apply radiation safety standards and verify appropriate shielding and exposure settings Operate and troubleshoot radiographic equipment, PACS, and related imaging systems Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and providers to support timely, accurate diagnosis Maintain detailed, compliant documentation within EMR and imaging systems Follow strict infection prevention and control guidelines in all patient interactions Educate patients and families on procedures, expectations, and post-exam instructions Participate in quality improvement initiatives and equipment performance checks Support Mercy's mission by demonstrating compassion, respect, and cultural sensitivity Required Skills Diagnostic radiography (X-ray) Computed Tomography (CT) basics Fluoroscopy procedures PACS/RIS and EMR systems Radiation safety and protection Anatomy and physiology knowledge Patient positioning and immobilization Infection control procedures Basic life support (BLS) Equipment quality control and maintenance
