The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality mammographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, department protocols, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while producing diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. Previous digital and breast imaging mammography experience preferred. Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures according to established protocols. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns. Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Operate mammography equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Review images for quality and completeness prior to radiologist interpretation. Document procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and radiology information systems. Maintain equipment and report any operational issues or concerns. Assist with breast localization and other specialized breast imaging procedures as required. Follow established radiation safety standards and infection prevention practices. Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities. Provide compassionate and professional patient care at all times.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Licensure/Certification Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R). ARRT certification in Mammography (M) or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe. Current Wisconsin Radiographer License (if applicable). Current BLS certification preferred.
