Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Activities Coordinator (PT) to enrich the lives of residents in our senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for engaging seniors through meaningful activities, with experience in event planning, recreational therapy, and caregiving. This role involves developing and implementing diverse programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities, fostering a vibrant community environment. The Activities Coordinator will work closely with staff and residents to promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities and events that cater to the interests and needs of senior residents, including memory care and dementia-specific programming. Develop innovative programs that promote socialization, cognitive function, physical activity, and emotional well-being. Coordinate resident events by managing schedules, resources, and logistics to ensure smooth execution. Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed while promoting independence and dignity. Collaborate with team members to assess resident needs and adapt programs accordingly to maximize engagement. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and feedback to inform program development. Use communication skills effectively to liaise with families, staff, and external vendors for event planning and resident support. This role requires a schedule with rotating weekends Experience Proven experience in activity planning within assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and senior care best practices. Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques and program development tailored for older adults. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or memory impairments is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Prior long-term care or home & community care experience is desirable to understand the unique needs of geriatric patients. Strong communication skills combined with leadership qualities necessary for team coordination and resident rapport building.
