Crouse's Addiction Treatment team provides a comprehensive system of assessment and treatment services for individuals with substance use disorders by integrating physical, mental and spiritual healthcare practices for patients and families. The Addiction Treatment team is hiring an Addiction Treatment Activities Therapist.

Pay Range:

 $23.50 - $27.30 / hourly

Schedule:

Full Time, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, other shifts as assigned.

Addiction Treatment Activities Therapist Position Responsibilities:

Ensures that they cultivate a work climate supportive of the Hospital's mission, vision and values as noted above. Commits to a customer service-oriented culture within his/her area which includes service orientation to work processes, staff customer service and actively participates and supports the development of key customer service outcomes. Attends activity therapy work group meetings and in-service training as scheduled. Develops and implements activities integrating recovery issues with Expressive Therapies, Skills for Living, Community Awareness, Gross Motor Movement, New Games, and Leisure Education. Attends ongoing training and in-services as appropriate to individual staff development and goals. Daily documentation of activities and patient progress and participation Develop skills in public speaking and presentation, as well as group dynamics. Develop an awareness and understanding of safety and emergency procedures, i.e. fire drills, use of program vehicle, use of fire extinguisher, etc. Maintain the safety and storage of activity/recreational supplies and equipment. Display the ability to deal with conflict appropriately and assertively with both staff and patients. Display effective communication skills as it relates to the multidisciplinary treatment teams approach to Addiction Treatment. Other duties as assigned.

Addiction Treatment Activities Therapist Position Requirements:

Bachelor's in Recreation Therapy required. Certification as a rehabilitation counselor, CTRS certification preferred Will consider Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or other certification recognized as "Qualified Health Provider" (QHP) in New York State with 5 years paid work experience in an activities program.
