Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinate and lead day-to-day programming activities for Life Engagement and Care Partner lead activities for in all areas of Abe's Garden Community.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet with Director of Resident and Family Support weekly to report goals for the engagement department, clarify upcoming schedule, and review any immediate needs that have to be addressed. Discuss daily with LECs items regarding current and next days' programming, communicate new ideas, assignments, and/ or make announcements. Assist LECs with projects as needed. Teach, mentor, and assist Care Partners and LECs to provide a meaningful program of engagements that offers purpose for each member. Ensure proper documentation is occurring for engagement. Plan and lead a team meeting, once per week to discuss current volunteers, programming, assignments, ask for input, evaluate the program, etc. Support the LECs in organizing supplies and equipment in a neat and organized manner. Coordinate entertainers and needed supplies for LECs. Complete necessary paperwork from purchases to Sr. Director of Resident and Family Support, on weekly basis. Create PowerPoint presentations and Hearthstone activities, as needed. Assist the team regarding interventions and challenges for all residents and share lifestyle reminders regarding new residents. Train and orient new LEC staff. Assist in compiling residential grouping lists, welcome signs, and birthday signs. Maintain regular and timely attendance. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience with recreational planning for people with Dementia required. Experience with recreational planning in a retirement center or Senior Center preferred. Experience with Assisted Living Activities preferred. Credentials in a Therapeutic or Certified area preferred. Special education experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours. Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to drive to locations to pick up supplies. Abe's Garden Community is an equal opportunity employer.
