Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activity Director to lead and coordinate engaging life enrichment programs for seniors. This role is responsible for creating meaningful recreational and social experiences that enhance residents' quality of life while fostering a welcoming, engaging, and supportive community. Key Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program that meets the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of residents. Plan and lead a variety of individual and group activities designed to promote engagement and overall well-being. Assist residents in attending scheduled activities, providing reminders and escorts as needed. Offer personalized one-on-one visits and activities for residents who are unable or choose not to participate in group programs. Organize special events, holiday celebrations, community outings, and themed activities. Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers who support activity programming. Maintain accurate attendance records, participation documentation, and behavioral observations as required. Prepare and distribute monthly activity calendars while maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Assist with decorating and preparing activity spaces for programs and special events. Collaborate with other departments to create a positive resident experience and promote participation throughout the community. Monitor activity supplies, equipment, and departmental budget to ensure efficient program operations. Observe and report any changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition to the appropriate clinical staff. Maintain a safe environment and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Participate in department meetings, training sessions, and other assigned responsibilities. Qualifications Previous experience planning, organizing, and leading activities or life enrichment programs for seniors. Experience working with individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to create engaging programs that appeal to residents with a wide range of interests and abilities. Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff and coordinating volunteers. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and committed to enhancing the lives of older adults. Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Valid driver's license required. Must successfully complete required background checks, health screenings, and dementia-specific training as required by state regulations. Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
