Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator to join our nursing leadership team. As the RN Staff Development Coordinator, you'll help develop a knowledgeable, confident nursing team through orientation, clinical education, competency training, and ongoing staff development. Responsibilities Coordinate orientation and onboarding for newly hired nursing staff. Provide clinical education and training for RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other direct-care staff. Conduct skills validations and competency assessments. Coordinate required in-services, annual education, and regulatory training. Maintain accurate training, certification, and competency records. Coach and mentor nursing staff to strengthen clinical performance. Support survey readiness, infection prevention, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing - REQUIRED. Current CPR/BLS certification. Previous nursing experience required. Staff development, nursing education, clinical training, or nursing leadership experience preferred. Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care experience preferred. Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing standards and regulatory requirements. Excellent teaching, communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Passion for developing healthcare professionals and improving resident care.
