As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (Float), you will provide professional, patient-centered nursing care across multiple outpatient behavioral health locations, working collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary care teams. This dynamic role includes conducting comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and injections, coordinating care, providing health education, developing wellness groups, and supporting treatment plans for individuals with behavioral health needs. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse patient populations (e.g., individuals with SMI, young persons with First Episode Psychosis) while serving as an advocate, educator, and trusted clinical resource. In addition to clinic-based care, the Behavioral Health RN (Float) engages directly with patients in their homes and communities by conducting outreach visits, health assessments, medication administration, laboratory specimen collection, and care coordination activities. The role also includes developing and leading educational groups and wellness activities that promote recovery and overall health. Hourly Pay Rate:

$55. 00 - This is a per diem position that floats between locations where needed.

Qualifications Education:

Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Prefer a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing.

Experience:

Requires one year (1) of clinical nursing experience as an RN in a psychiatric setting, demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code

of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member's scope of practice.

Certification/Licensure:

Must possess a current, valid Arizona RN license and be in good standing with the AZ Board of Nursing. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred. It will be required within three weeks of starting the position and must be renewed every two years. CPI certification training will be provided upon hire/transfer to the department and must be obtained prior to providing patient care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to meet the conditions as stated in the employment agreement. Must be able to float to both facilities (Desert Vista-Mesa and Psych Annex-Phoenix), for which approved competencies must be demonstrated. Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must. Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills. Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Bilingual is preferred.
