Parkway Animal Center is looking for an eager, full-time, Veterinary Room Nurse! Our ambition is simple- be the hospital we want to take our own pets to! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for candidates eager to get their foot in the door of the industry and learn from experienced Veterinarians and staff. This is a heavy client-facing role, where you will spend the majority of your time in the exam room with a DVM, creating treatment plans and estimates to communicate to pet owners. You must be able to multi-task in the room in front of both the DVM and the client while using our software system. Demonstrated ability to actively listen, provide excellent customer service and move at a fast pace is a must! You must have OPEN availability to work M-F 8:00am - 6:30pm and be able to start full-time within 2 weeks of job offer. This is NOT a pathway for pre-Veterinary school students. This is a career started for future Veterinary Assistants and Registered Veterinary Technicians.

What you'll be doing: Under the direction of the Medical Director/Partner Owner and Associate Veterinarians, in cooperation with the Lead Veterinary Technician, you will coordinate and provide support for pet appointments and hospital admissions to include physical examinations, therapeutic procedures, diagnostics, and husbandry care. In addition, you will play a key role in ensuring our pet and pet parents have a five-star experience. The nitty gritty (in case you want the specific!): Provide safe but compassionate restraint of patients for physical examinations, treatments, and procedures; Obtain patient vitals - recognize and communicate abnormalities to attending veterinarian; Interact with clients in person and via phone to obtain vital patient information; Provide client education and instruction regarding recommended prophylactic and prescribed care in a positive, receptive manner; Prepare and administer medication/vaccination/treatment via topical, oral, submucosal, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous routes as directed by the Veterinarians; Clean & sterilize instruments, equipment and other materials as instructed; Help maintain the hospital in a clean and professional manner.
