Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient care accurately and efficiently. Assist with complex procedures including catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management. Coordinate patient care plans through case management strategies and discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions across care settings. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and diagnostic imaging support like sonography or mammography when applicable. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, ICU, trauma centers, or specialty units such as cardiology or geriatrics to deliver specialized care. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all medical documentation adheres to NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements for accurate billing and reporting. Skills Proven experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), ICU, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or outpatient clinics. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to nursing practice. Skilled in performing invasive procedures like IV insertion, venipuncture, catheter care, and sterile processing techniques. Ability to manage acute pain cases effectively while demonstrating excellent critical care response skills in trauma or Level I/II trauma center settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; familiarity with memory care or dementia/Alzheimer's care is preferred. Knowledge of infectious disease control practices and infection prevention protocols. Capable of working under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or urgent care clinics. Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics including medication administration and post-discharge instructions. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous for specialized roles.
