2996670786-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Hartford Healthcare seeks a Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our expanding cancer care team in Hartford, CT. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive care for patients with hematologic and solid tumor malignancies across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will perform thorough evaluations, create evidence-based treatment plans, and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to adult patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting Conduct patient assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and manage chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging, lab work, and biopsies Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and support staff Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and survivorship care Document accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards Supervise and mentor advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows as applicable Engage in quality improvement, clinical pathways, and practice-based research initiatives Participate in on-call rotation and provide inpatient consultative services as needed Contribute to program development and community outreach for oncology services Required Skills Hematology and oncology clinical management Chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration and monitoring Interpretation of oncology diagnostics (imaging, pathology, labs) Symptom management and palliative care principles Use of electronic health records (EHR) Clinical research or clinical trial participation Multidisciplinary care coordination Patient and family communication and counseling Quality improvement and outcomes measurement Regulatory and safety compliance in oncology
