2996663022-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Hartford Healthcare seeks a Registered Nurse Pre-Admission to support safe, efficient surgical and procedural care. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive pre-admission assessments, review medical histories, medications, and lab results, and identify potential risks. You will educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure instructions, coordinate clearances with providers, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. Working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, you will partner with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams while using advanced technology and evidence-based practices to deliver exceptional care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive pre-admission nursing assessments for surgical and procedural patients Review medical histories, medications, allergies, and diagnostic results to identify risks Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize readiness Provide patient and family education on pre- and post-procedure instructions and expectations Coordinate required clearances, tests, and consultations prior to procedures Document assessments, care plans, and communications accurately in the electronic health record Monitor and follow up on abnormal findings and escalate concerns appropriately Support quality, safety, and infection-prevention initiatives in the pre-admission process Use evidence-based nursing practices and clinical protocols to guide care Participate in professional development and contribute to process improvements Required Skills Pre-admission nursing assessment Clinical triage and risk assessment Patient and family education Perioperative nursing knowledge Care coordination and case management Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Vital signs and diagnostic review Interdisciplinary team collaboration Infection prevention and control Evidence-based nursing practice
