Job Description
Women's Center for Advanced Surgery in Tifton, is seeking a qualified Pre-op/PACU RN to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. Position is full-time, twelve-hour shifts, with TWO weeks off a month. Duties Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery. Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct. Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure. Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure. Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria. Chart all findings in patient file. Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort. Monitor patient's post-operative for condition changes and post-operative symptoms of anesthesia, reporting any changes to the physician. Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies. Educate patients and their family members on post-operative care. Demonstrates the willingness to cross-train/float when/if the opportunity arises. Requirements/Preferences An Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is required Current Georgia Registered Nurse license ,ACLS, and BLS certification are required Minimum of one (1) year in Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Recovery Room, or Medical/Surgical nursing preferred Critical thinking skills Attention to detail Strong communication skills Ability to remain calm under pressure Inherent desire to go above and beyond
