Job Description
The American National Red Cross seeks an ICU Nurse to deliver high-acuity, compassionate care to critically ill patients in alignment with our humanitarian mission. In this role, you will perform complex assessments, manage ventilators and drips, respond rapidly to patient status changes, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. You'll support disaster or surge responses, maintain rigorous safety and infection-control standards, and provide clear education to patients and families-all while upholding our values of compassion, collaboration, and service. Responsibilities Provide high-acuity, evidence-based care to critically ill ICU patients Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of vital signs and hemodynamics Manage ventilators, complex IV drips, and life-support equipment Respond rapidly to patient status changes, emergencies, and codes Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately Document care thoroughly in the EHR and maintain accurate records Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate and support patients and families about conditions and treatments Adhere to strict infection-control and patient-safety protocols Support disaster or surge response efforts in alignment with Red Cross mission Required Skills ICU patient assessment Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Medication administration (IV drips, titration) Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Infection control protocols Rapid response and code management Care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration Blood product administration Patient and family education
