Job Description

As a Registered Nurse at the American National Red Cross, you'll deliver compassionate clinical care in disaster relief, community health, and blood services settings. In this mission-driven role, you'll assess and prioritize patient needs, perform triage, administer medications, and monitor vital signs while maintaining accurate EMR documentation. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, volunteers, and community partners to support disaster response, health education, and blood drives, ensuring high standards of safety, infection control, and culturally competent care for diverse populations in crisis and recovery. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, triage, and treatment for clients in disaster, community health, and blood services settings Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while monitoring patient responses and vital signs Document care accurately in EMR systems and maintain compliance with Red Cross and regulatory standards Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, staff, and volunteers to coordinate individualized care plans Support disaster response operations, shelters, and health outreach activities as part of multidisciplinary teams Educate patients, families, and communities on health, safety, and recovery resources Maintain strict infection control, safety, and quality assurance practices in all care environments Participate in blood drives and related clinical procedures as needed Required Skills Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Wound care and triage Emergency and disaster response Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Care planning and coordination Infection control practices Patient and family education Vital signs monitoring and interpretation CPR and basic life support
