Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students' well-being at a vibrant elementary school. This contract opportunity is for a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or CSN student, actively engaged in or having completed CSN coursework (beyond a standard RN). The school site is fast-paced with a collaborative atmosphere, offering opportunities to make meaningful impacts while working closely with administrators, office staff, and a dedicated nursing team.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) with a Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsement for Certified School Nurse Currently enrolled in or completed CSN certification program (RN license alone does not qualify) Strong record of initiative, flexibility, and reliability High comfort level supporting students with diverse health and occasional personal care needs Proficient with technology—must document in electronic health record systems and support IEP/504 Plan health-compliance components Team-player mindset; willing to collaborate and step in where needed Ability to commit to school-year schedule through end of May 2027 Previous CSN experience and fluency in Spanish are highly valued
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the school health office efficiently and independently Complete thorough medical reviews and electronically document all services Actively participate in health-related contributions to IEP and 504 plan processes Step up to support students' personal care needs when required Collaborate closely with teachers, nurses, and office staff to ensure comprehensive student support Maintain consistent attendance and high reliability throughout the contract This position is ideal for someone who thrives in busy school settings, values teamwork, and is committed to providing consistent care.
