Job Description

Mercy is seeking Winter/Spring 2026 Graduate Nurses to join our compassionate care teams across the Midwest. In this role, you'll transition from student to professional RN through a structured residency, delivering safe, evidence-based care while supported by experienced preceptors. You'll perform assessments, administer medications, manage IVs, and document in the EHR, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based bedside nursing care under the guidance of experienced preceptors. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document accurately in the EHR. Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy according to physician orders and nursing standards. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to develop and update care plans. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain strict infection prevention and patient safety protocols. Participate in unit-based quality improvement, simulations, and ongoing clinical education. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues. Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure continuity of care. Engage in mentorship, feedback, and professional development activities within the nurse residency framework.
