A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Full time experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Salary is negotiable. The FNP performs a variety of specific patient care functions, including: Accessing medical histories, Performing physical assessments and wellness examinations, Screening and diagnosis of patient conditions, Ordering and analyzing laboratory tests, Developing and monitoring treatment plans, Prescribing and monitoring medications, Well-patient care for adults and children, including minor injuries, infections, and vaccinations, Referral to and consultation with specialists concerning specific patient conditions, Education of patient and family members, Management of chronic diseases that include asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, and Case Management of long-term conditions or illness.
