40 Hours perWeek Hours:
Variable start times between 6:00 AM- 8:30 AM, depending on assignment (Pre-Op, Intra-Op, or Post-Op), with end times between 2:30 PM
- 5:00 PM.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Endoscopy/GI Lab team. The RN will provide high-quality patient care throughout the procedural experience, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This role requires strong clinical judgment, patient assessment skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and efficient procedural care.Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process and established clinical standards.
- Assess patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and support ancillary staff in delivering quality patient care.
- Utilize clinical data and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation throughout the patient care process.
- Promote patient safety, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adapt communication and care approaches to meet the diverse needs of patients and families.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Registered Nurse Diploma required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy, GI Lab, procedural, or specialty nursing experience required.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Specialty certification preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional nursing standards.
Work Environment:
- Endoscopy and GI procedural setting involving direct patient care before, during, and after procedures.
- Frequent interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical support staff.
- Routine exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissues, and communicable diseases.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning and procedural support as needed.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experienced Endoscopy or GI Lab RN with strong procedural nursing experience.
- Skilled in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Detail-oriented professional with excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
