In this contract role, you'll perform comprehensive pediatric assessments, manage ventilators and drips, administer medications, and respond to rapid changes in patient status. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICUAdminister medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and protocols Continuously monitor and interpret vital signs, ventilators, and pediatric specialty equipment Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team Educate and support patients' families on care plans, procedures, and discharge needs Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all patient care Float to related pediatric units as needed based on facility requirements Required Skills Pediatric intensive care nursing Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Pediatric medication administration and titration Central line and arterial line management Pediatric assessment and triage Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Infection control and patient safety Family education and support Interdisciplinary team collaboration
