Job Description

LifeBridge Health seeks a Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care (IMC) unit in Maryland. In this role, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based care to acutely ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, cardiac and telemetry monitoring, medication administration, collaboration with physicians and the care team, and patient and family education. You'll document in the EHR, uphold safety and infection control standards, and participate in quality and process-improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to IMC patients, including assessments, medications, and treatments Monitor and interpret cardiac and vital sign monitoring, escalating changes promptly Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain regulatory compliance Maintain infection control and patient safety standards at all times Participate in quality improvement, unit-based initiatives, and evidence-based practice Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as assigned Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes Required Skills Intermediate/step-down nursing care Telemetry and cardiac monitoring IV therapy and medication administration Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Patient assessment and clinical decision-making Ventilator and respiratory support basics ACLS and BLS life support skills Infection prevention and control Care planning and care coordination Wound and post-surgical care
