Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures including suturing, catheterization, IV insertion and infusion, tube feeding, ventilator management, and sterile processing techniques. Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, radiology imaging (e.g., sonography), and specimen collection/processing to support accurate diagnoses. Provide specialized care in areas like trauma medicine at Level I/II trauma centers, ICU or PICU settings, neonatal resuscitation procedures, or hospice & palliative medicine environments. Lead triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently while demonstrating advanced knowledge of physiology and medical terminology. Support discharge planning and case management efforts to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities. Deliver patient education on health coaching topics including medication administration, pain management strategies, nutrition, and chronic disease management such as diabetes or cardiac conditions. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are highly preferred. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Proven proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is advantageous. Critical care experience in ICU or trauma centers; hospital medicine or emergency medicine background is desirable. Skilled in performing aseptic techniques, phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, and specimen collection/processing. Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices along with expertise in pain management and infection control protocols. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I trauma centers or acute care units while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient interactions.
