1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active MI RN license. Details Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, DM, Ortho, CP, Pneumonia, and COPD Unit manages insulin drips and Cardizem drips, no ventilators Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Every other weekend required, occasionally every third weekend No floating required at this time Uses Pyxis and EPIC systems Requirements Active MI RN license required by start date (compact license not accepted) Minimum 2 years of experience required BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred) EPIC charting experience preferred, with training provided during orientation Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team activation Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols Wound care/wound vac experience preferred Proof of high school level education required Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and medication management Manage cardiac drips without titration responsibilities Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per facility protocol Support orthopedic patients including total joint replacement care Scrub color requirement is hunter green Free parking available on site First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates Returning core staff must wait 12 months before reapplying and undergo HR verification RTO is limited to a 5-day maximum per assignment and must be submitted at time of application Facility offers a block schedule accommodation
