A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Rotating Shift Description:
5a-2p, and 2p-11p, rotating shifts (8 hours) need to be flexible to work both shifts. Maintains a 24 hours/day, seven day/week staffing schedule for the inpatient nursing units and Emergency Department. Follows recommendations for meeting staffing needs with guidance from the Nursing Team. Provides for nursing supervisory coverage 24 hours/day, seven days/week.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 1.
High school graduate; post-secondary business education desirable. 2. Familiarity with a computer information system. 3. Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred. 4. Able to use tact, discretion and persuasiveness in relationship with others. 5. Demonstrates ability to work in an environment that promotes accountability, responsibility and collegiality. 6. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives. 7. Uses problem-solving techniques. 8. Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of
MHM. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS 1.
Requires lifting, carrying and/or pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds unassisted. 2. Is very frequently performing detailed tasks, subject to interruptions and evolving and changing work priorities.
