HCA Healthcare is seeking New Graduate Nurses to join our Nurse Residency Program in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care while developing clinical competence under the guidance of experienced preceptors. You will participate in structured classroom learning, hands-on training, and mentoring to ease the transition from student to professional nurse. Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care under the guidance of a preceptor Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely in accordance with hospital policies Implement provider orders and assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and therapies Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record clearly and timely Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered plans of care Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions Participate in classroom, simulation, and clinical learning activities as part of the nurse residency curriculum Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards, including fall prevention and medication safety protocols Escalate concerns and changes in patient status promptly to preceptors and providers Engage in feedback, coaching, and mentorship to support ongoing professional development Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives as appropriate Required Skills Patient assessment Medication administration Basic nursing procedures (vital signs, IV therapy, wound care, catheter care) Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Clinical decision-making and critical thinking Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Basic life support and emergency response support Time management and prioritization Interdisciplinary team communication Fundamental post-surgical and medical-surgical nursing care Understanding of evidence-based practice and nursing process
