Highlands-Cashiers Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a rural critical access hospital. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse inpatient and emergency patients, coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and provide education to patients and families. Responsibilities include medication administration, monitoring and documentation, responding to emergencies, and supporting safe transitions of care. RNs will precept when needed, uphold quality and safety standards, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered culture in a close-knit mountain community hospital. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for inpatient and emergency patients Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Monitor, document, and report patient status and responses to care Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Respond to emergencies and perform critical interventions per protocols Uphold infection prevention, quality, and patient safety standards Precept or mentor new nurses and support staff as needed Contribute to a compassionate, patient-centered rural care environment Required Skills Patient assessment and triage IV therapy and venipuncture Medication administration and reconciliation Wound care and dressing changes Cardiac and vital sign monitoring Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Emergency response and basic life support Care planning and care coordination Patient and family education Infection prevention and safety protocols
