In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services, ensure compliance with health regulations, and support the overall safety of students and staff. Your expertise will help foster a nurturing, safe, and healthy learning space where children can thrive physically, emotionally, and academically. Duties Conduct health assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations, to monitor student health status Administer first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency medical interventions promptly during incidents or injuries Manage medication administration and injections following strict protocols and parental instructions Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions Monitor infectious disease control measures and enforce health regulations to prevent outbreaks within the school environment Perform venipuncture and IV insertions as needed for medical treatments or diagnostic purposes Conduct ongoing patient assessments to identify emerging health concerns or symptoms requiring further medical attention Ensure all medical equipment, including manual handling tools and emergency devices like AEDs, are properly maintained and ready for use Experience Proven experience working as a nurse in a pediatric setting or school clinic environment with a focus on early childhood care Demonstrated proficiency in emergency medicine, urgent care, or hospital medicine environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or medical-surgical units Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric development principles Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record keeping Familiarity with health regulations compliance standards including HIPAA and State Nursing Practice Acts Experience in infection control practices specific to school-aged populations and outpatient settings Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare teams about student health issues and emergency procedures Certification in basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid, AED operation, and IV insertion from recognized organizations is required This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your nursing expertise with your passion for supporting children's health in an engaging educational setting.
