3 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Ortho RN for a night shift assignment requiring MS/Tele experience and BLS certification. Details Work on a 46-bed Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence unit within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center teaching hospital Care for orthopedic and general medical-surgical patients with fractures, traumatic injuries, degenerative disease, congenital disorders, infections, and total joint replacements RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6 Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30 Every other weekend required, but not every weekend Floating required within scope, including to an affiliated nearby facility approximately 15 minutes away Epic EMR experience required Block scheduling not accommodated Requirements Active RN license (Oregon license not required at submission; pending licensure accepted) Current BLS certification through AHA required Minimum of 1 year of MS/Tele experience within the last 3 years required Epic charting system experience required Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, non-invasive airway management, O2 protocol, peripheral line care/management, isolation precautions/PPE, rapid response team activation, and computerized documentation Experience with cardiac monitoring, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, and IV therapy/phlebotomy required Additional Information Deliver care to surgical and non-surgical orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients as part of an interdisciplinary team Orthopedic experience not required for consideration; unit-specific education provided upon hire Unit was the first in Oregon to receive a Center of Excellence Disease Specific Certification from The Joint Commission for total hip and knee replacements Royal blue scrub color required Free parking available on-site Requests for time off exceeding 2 weeks require approval First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted Former employees of this health system are not eligible for assignments until six months after their termination date Refusal to float may result in contract cancellation Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start and annually thereafter
