Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Adjunct faculty are needed to teach in the classroom, clinical, and simulation areas, medical-surgical, community health, psychiatric-mental health, and maternity nursing. The successful candidate will be driven by excellence and will understand the importance of allowing students to create and apply knowledge within active learning environments. The candidate will need to demonstrate potential for success in college teaching and contribute to the academic program development at the undergraduate level. ESU's Nursing Department offers a four-year program of study that leads to a baccalaureate degree. The program offers a comprehensive foundation of courses and an opportunity for students to select elective courses within specific areas of general education to prepare students to excel in nursing. Qualifications Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Nursing. Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DNP) and/or ABD candidates preferred, and at least 2 years of teaching at the undergraduate level, and 5 to 10 years of clinical experience in nursing required.
