Job Description

As an Oncology Med Surg Clinical Nurse Coordinator at HCA Healthcare, you will coordinate and support high-quality care for adult oncology and medical-surgical patients on a busy acute care unit. You'll serve as a clinical resource for nurses, assist with complex patient care, staffing, and workflow, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. You will champion patient-centered care, lead quality and safety initiatives, mentor staff, and model HCA's culture of compassion, teamwork, learning, and integrity while advancing your nursing leadership career in a leading healthcare system. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee daily clinical operations on the oncology med-surg unit Support bedside nurses with complex oncology and med-surg patient care needs Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to plan and optimize care Monitor patient outcomes, quality metrics, and safety standards; escalate concerns as needed Assist with staffing, assignments, and workflow to ensure safe, efficient unit coverage Provide clinical expertise, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff and new hires Facilitate patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge plans Ensure accurate documentation in the EHR and compliance with regulatory standards Participate in performance improvement, evidence-based practice, and unit-based projects Model HCA values of compassion, teamwork, integrity, and patient-centered care Required Skills Oncology nursing Medical-surgical nursing Chemotherapy administration coordination Care coordination Clinical triage and assessment Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Quality and safety improvement Interdisciplinary team leadership Staff precepting and mentoring
