Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking an RN Progressive Care Clinical Nurse Coordinator to lead nursing care on our progressive care unit. In this role, you will coordinate patient care for high-acuity, medically complex adults, ensuring safe transitions, timely interventions, and adherence to evidence-based practices. You will mentor and support staff nurses, assist with scheduling and assignments, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. The coordinator monitors quality metrics, supports staff education, promotes a culture of safety and compassion, and serves as a clinical resource for patients, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee nursing care on the progressive care unit Manage patient assignments and support safe care transitions Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Serve as a clinical resource for staff, patients, and families Mentor and precept nurses, supporting ongoing clinical development Monitor and support compliance with evidence-based protocols and policies Assist with staffing, scheduling, and daily workflow coordination Track and support improvement in quality, safety, and patient experience metrics Participate in staff education, competency validation, and onboarding Support a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement Required Skills Progressive care nursing Cardiac and telemetry monitoring Care coordination and discharge planning Clinical leadership and charge nurse skills IV therapy and medication administration Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Quality and safety improvement Time management and prioritization
