Join HCA Healthcare in Nashville as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse on weekend nights. In this role, you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse med-surg population, performing assessments, administering medications, and coordinating treatment plans with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients during weekend night shifts, following physician orders and evidence-based practices Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments using electronic health records Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge plans, and post-hospital care instructions Respond promptly to changes in patient status and emergency situations, initiating appropriate interventions Ensure infection control, patient safety, and quality standards are met throughout all aspects of care Precept or mentor new nurses and support ongoing unit-based learning and process improvement initiatives Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment IV therapy and medication administration Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Care planning and coordination Telemetry and vital sign monitoring Wound care management Infection control practices Acute care clinical skills Patient and family education
