Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate PACU RN for weekend-only shifts. In this role, you will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to surgical patients, closely monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and responding promptly to changes in condition. You'll collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient recoveries and thorough patient education for discharge. Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in the PACU on weekend shifts Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient vital signs and recovery status Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management per physician orders and protocols Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated care Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and adhere to HCA policies Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards in the PACU Required Skills Post-anesthesia patient assessment and monitoring IV therapy and medication administration Pain management and sedation monitoring Cardiac and respiratory monitoring Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Infection prevention and control procedures Emergency response and code management support Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Clinical prioritization and time management
